VERITAS participated in the expert mission on arbitration procedures and mediation

From 9 to 10 July 2018 Elena Bit-Avragim the managing partner of VERITAS Law Agency participated in the Expert Mission for practical issues to implement arbitration procedures and mediation, which was conducted by the State Authority for Intellectual Property and Innovation under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent) and the World Intellectual Property Agency (WIPO).

During this event, the director of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre Erik Wilbers told about the possibilities of resolving disputes in the field of intellectual property and technology by means of alternative dispute resolution, and shared his experience of carrying out mediation in the field of intellectual property.

ADS is suitable for most intellectual property disputes and especially for disputes involving parties from different jurisdictions. Moreover, the consensual nature of this procedure often makes it possible to abate confrontation in the proceedings, creating an opportunity for the parties to establish, continue or strengthen mutually beneficial business relations.
